Antique American Clocks January 2021
28. $450
Wm. Gilbert Clock Co. “Regulator No. 14”, ca. 1901. A second No. 14 with a clean finish
on the oak case; the door glass is not especially old, the interior back wall has been painted black. There is no label, as
usual. The dial has been repainted with the Gilbert logo and the three hands are correct. The pendulum bob, weight, and
pulley are brass on this example. The door hinges are on the left, an unusual configuration but it appears to be factory issue. The unsigned, 8-day time-only movement is running. $500-$750.
