Antique American Clocks July 2020
307. $50
New Haven “30 Day Willard” banjo, ca. 1929. A 40-inch solid mahogany case with two nice glasses (printed
panels behind glass), and a convex glass over the silvered dial. The dial shows considerable wear, the hands are correct. The metal retainer ring holding the dial glass in place in the bezel has come unsoldered and will need repair. Worse than that,
the pendulum suspension spring is broken and will need replacement and is likely to be a chore (see photo). The signed 30-day,
time-only movement looks fine but couldn’t be tested; the pendulum bob has lost most of it’s finish. Good label on the back. A good clock if you could find a replacement pendulum. When in running condition these sell for $300 or more. $75-$150.
