Antique American Clocks July 2020
306. $100
Ithaca Calendar Clock Co. “No. 8 Shelf Library”, 1868-1883. This example is for parts. Here
are the problems: No back. Wrong top finial. Time dial needs to be replaced. Hands are old but not correct. Middle door to allow access to the pendulum is an improper replacement. Calendar glass is modern. The strike chain of
the movement is not working properly. The alarm is missing. The link connection to the month calendar roller is missing
the pin to connect to the calendar mechanism and will likely need professional repair. There is no pendulum bob. Here,
on the other hand, are the positives: Decent walnut case. Nice signed old paper calendar dial (with some losses at the
pendulum window). Correct calendar hand. Old time-dial glass. Signed Welch 8-day time-and-strike movement is running
(strike side needs work). Repairable original calendar movement. $100-$200.
