E. Ingraham “Admiral Dewey”, ca. 1899.  This is the most common of the Spanish-American War commemorative clocks produced at the turn of the twentieth century.  In pressed oak, 23 inches tall and very clean.  This clock has the original door glass, with some wear, and the original commemorative pendulum, artfully colored, and a signed gong base. The paper dial is a signed replacement.  The 8-day time-and-strike movement is signed and running, striking a wire gong on the hours and half-hours.  Note that the pressed wood is covered in patriotic symbols including the flag, cannon balls, cannons, and stars.  $175-$250.
