E.N. Welch & Co. “Patti No. 1”, ca. 1880.  The 19-inch rosewood case is in spectacular condition, clean and polished.  The three glasses are old, the door glass having lost some of the gilded decoration along the bottom.  There is a matte finish dial with two correct Patti hands, a shiny nickel bell and a sandwich glass pendulum. The interior of the case is flocked, there is a good label on the back.  The 8-day Patti movement is running and striking effortlessly. Horton’s sold one in similar condition last year for $840.  $800-$1000.
