40.      $150

Waltham Clock Co. “No. 31 Colonial”, ca. 1905.  A 40-inch weight-driven banjo timepiece in a dark mahogany case with a throat glass picturing George Washington and a tablet of Mount Vernon.  The throat background has been touched up.  The dial glass is convex, the metal dial is signed, the hands correct, as is the eagle finial.  The signed movement is running reliably.  The throat piece has been modified to mount in place, and I am not convinced it is original to the clock; or perhaps the original wooden tabs broke off.  $400-$600.

Andy Dervan has informed me that the movement in this clock is not a legitimate Waltham movement, despite being signed.  Andy has published several articles in the NAWCC Bulletin on Waltham banjos.  I have adjusted the minimum price accordingly.

I depend on collectors to keep me well informed - Thanks Andy!
