Seth Thomas “Lever No. 18”, USAF, ca. 1939.  From the catalog, “An 8-day, 11-jeweled lever time movement No. 5160.”  The 10-inch diameter case is black Bakelite, with wear, with a hinged moisture-resistant screw-down bezel. The cork seal has been mostly lost; the glass replaced with Plexiglas and is not secure in the bezel.  Sweep seconds hand; the clock is running nicely.  The label on the side, “USAF, MX-771” is associated with the development of land-to-land missiles in 1946.  I didn’t know they made ships clocks for the Air Force; I suppose plastic (Bakelite) was used to reduce the weight. Ly, Seth Thomas Clocks & Movements, Vol. 2, page 777.  $150-$250.
