Antique American Clocks January 2020
421. $250
R. M. Schnekenburger bracket clock, 1882-1900. A 15-inch hardwood case very similar to the
previous clock (#420), clean and without scratches or dents and with a nice lacquer finish. On the back of the movement is a
rose with the initials ‘R M S’. There is also the acronym ‘DRGM’ which indicates a registered German design. It holds
a multi-part brass dial with a silvered chapter ring and brass filigree spandrels on a brass blackplate; there is a fast-slow adjustment
dial at the top. The silvered chapter ring shows soiling or wear. The dial sits behind a heavy beveled glass in the door. It is running and striking on the quarter-hours as described for #420. $250-$500.
