Wm. Gilbert Clock Co. “Curfew”, 1909.  A long-popular model with a faux marble finish and a bell in an archway on top; the clock strikes the bell with a nice clear sound on the hours and half-hours.  The case is wood, with incised gilt lines on the front.  This one has a pierced brass dial that outlines cartouche-style numerals on a paper dial. There is an old flat glass in the bezel.  The 8-day time-and-strike, signed movement is running and striking.  The case shows its age (110 years) with some crackling to the finish, but would clean and polish up nicely.  Curfews continue to sell for about $150 on eBay.  $150-$200.
