G.B. Owen “Texas, Extra”, 1875-1879.  A 22-inch high black walnut parlor clock with cut glass in the door, an extra that Owen liked to use to distinguish his clocks from the big manufacturers.  Owen managed the Gilbert Clock Co. at this time as well.  The dial is yellowed paper, there is an alarm (untested), and a single barrel pendulum. The finish is very nice.  The clock differs slightly from the 1878 catalog illustration in that this one has plinths below each column.  The clock is running and striking the hours on a nickel bell.  $100-$150.
