E.N. Welch mirrorside, ca. 1874.  Nope, I can’t find an example of this model in Ly’s book on Welch clocks, nor in the Antique Clocks Price Guide.  There is no label on this 24-inch standard mirrorside case, only a Welch-signed movement that looks to be original to the case and a unique 3-barrel pendulum found on other high-end Welch shelf clocks.  The door glass is original with the putty falling out in pieces, the side mirrors are very old but still pretty clean, and the angel statues are also quite old.  In fact, everything on this clock looks to be original including the painted dial, old hands, and finials.  The clock is running and striking a nickel bell on the hour.  Welch was well-known for making special-order clocks that are not found in catalogs, it certainly makes sense that they would utilize this popular case for a special-order model. $350-$600.
