200. $275
Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Queen Anne”, ca. 1883. A 36-inch
ebony case with a good finish. The door glass is likely original, the dial old, replaced paper, the hands are correct. The large ST 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running and striking on the cathedral gong (in the photos the gong had fallen out
of position due to a loose screw); this movement was also used in the Fashion calendar models. The pendulum bob is damascened
and there is a black label inside on the bottom. This clock is not uncommon, but the ebony finish is. AAC has sold four
examples, none ebony, for $300–$400.
