170.           $1500

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Regulator No. 30”, ca. 1909.  A 49-inch cherry case that has been refinished beautifully; the only flaw I see is the center ball finial, which should not be sitting on a post.  That can be easily fixed.  The door glass is modern, as are the door hinges; the signed dial is old paint with some touch-up and fading.   The hands are correct modern replacements, adapted to fit.  The 8-day, time-only movement is unsigned, running but not enthusiastically, regulated by a ST pendulum and bob and a proper weight.  There is a beat scale but no label and no date stamp.  AAC sold a very similar example a year ago for $1923.  $1500–$2000.
