158.           $2500

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Fashion No. 8”, ca. 1887.  A second model made and marketed by Seth Thomas; the No. 8 is distinguished by the rosettes on the calendar door.  The finely polished black walnut case is 32.5 inches tall with an original door glass and Fashion lettering.  The dials are aluminum replacements, properly painted with proper ST hands.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is labeled Seth Thomas; it is running and striking on a cathedral gong and the calendar is advancing.  The nickel pendulum bob is damascened.  There is only a single label inside.  This is one of the hardest Fashion clocks to find; AAC has sold two examples for an average of $3125.  $2500–$3500.
