156.           $500

Southern Calendar Clock Co. “Fashion No. 4”, ca. 1885. The No. 4 differs from the No. 3 in appearance in having an inset seconds dial and a different pendulum hanger with a plain brass bob – and having a secret compartment in the back to store the pendulum bob and key.  The polished walnut case is 32.5 inches tall with the original door glass and lettering; the finials are old and one tip has been repaired.  Both dials have been repainted; the hands are correct.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed by Seth Thomas and made for the SCCC; it is running and striking on the brass bell and the calendar is advancing.  Good labels inside.  AAC has sold 15 of this model over the past several years for an average of $670.  $500–$800.
