153.           $150

Waterbury Clock Co. “Calendar No. 44”, ca. 1904.  Waterbury initially made this clock without the painted glass door, but most examples you see are this style.  The 24-inch oak case has been refinished and the door glass touched up and rebacked, but the coloring is not quite right.  Both dials were lacquered and are now alligatored.  The hands are correct.  The 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement will not run but will strike. I don’t think the problem is serious, a little patience and effort, and perhaps some oil, should get it running.  The movement is unsigned and complicated by an alarm that winds at the bottom and was untested.  The calendar does advance if you move the hands.  There are numerous labels on the back, behind plastic, but they are largely unreadable.  AAC has sold three of this model for an average of $238.  $150–$250.

Can I return my clock if I don’t like it?

Absolutely!  Save your packing and box, you have 30 days from receipt to return it for a full refund if you are unhappy.  If the clock is not as described, or I missed something important and that is not evident from the pictures, I will refund your shipping costs (both ways) as well.  Find another auction company that does that!
