E.N. Welch Mfg. Co. “Arditi” shelf calendar, ca. 1889. A popular shelf calendar then–and now. The walnut case is 27.25 inches tall with a clean finish. The door glass is original,
with the original putty; the dials are recently replaced paper; the hands are all correct. The Welch 8-day, time-and-strike
movement is running and striking on the wire gong, and the calendar hands are advancing. There is a very dark label on the back,
pasted on upside-down. AAC has sold three of this model in recent years for an average of $412. $350–$450.
