106. $100
E.N. Welch Mfg. Co. “Eclipse”, ca. 1885. The Eclipse appears
to have been made exclusively for the Metropolitan Manufacturing Co., as indicated on the back label. You can also find this
in a wall model with different trim (#215). The walnut case is 24 inches tall with a clean, old finish. The door glass
is original. The painted dial is clean and bright, the hands correct; the signed 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running
and striking on a cathedral gong as expected, and there is an Eclipse pendulum. Two labels behind plastic on the back. No recent sales of this model. $100–$200.
