50.                   $100

American Clock Co. “Rachel”, 1856–1862.  A 17-inch sculptured iron-front with good retention of the original paint including green ivy leaves, red grape clusters, and MOP.  There is an uncommon, simulated wood graining effect on the sides.  The paper dial is worn, the hands are period, the glasses likely replacements.  The one-day, time-and-strike movement is unsigned; it is running but not striking.  The mount is loose.  There is an alarm that was untested, and a stained and tattered label inside listing Owen & Clark as the manufacturers (retailed in New York City by the American Clock Co.).  $100–$200.
