Forestville Mfg. Co. cottage clock, 1842-1849.  A 15-inch mahogany cabinet with a clean finish and two original glasses and tablet.  The dial surround is also original; the tablet shows Buckingham Palace and is well-preserved.  The clean metal dial holds the original paint and is signed J.C. Brown, the hands are original/period.  The 30-hour time-and-strike square brass movement is running and striking; it is signed “Forestville Mfg. Co”.  There is a blue Forestville label inside with “J.C. Brown, Bristol, Conn.” at the bottom.  A nice example.  $250–$450.
