10.                   $50

Mark Leavenworth tall case, ca. 1815.  Leavenworth began his first business in 1814 in Waterbury CT making 30-hour wooden movements for tall case clocks.  I cannot verify that this is a Leavenworth movement, and I think the wire gong strike has replaced an overhead bell. It is untested; there is one proper tin can weight but no pendulum rod or bob.  The dial is unsigned and soiled, but the gilding is bright.  The four hands are proper and very old.  The case (likely not made by Leavenworth) is grain-painted pine, and very well done; it is missing a piece of trim on the right side below the hood.  The gold finials are wood and probably not original; the glass is a replacement.  The case is in good shape with no major damage but needs to be cleaned (and the trim piece replaced). I will part out this clock; you can bid on the movement, case, or both.  Delivery of the case to the eastern half of the US for $400.  $50–$500.
