169. $1200
E.N. Welch Mfg. Co. “Damrosch”, ca. 1885. A beautifully
refinished example of this uncommon model. The walnut case is 41 inches, tip to tip; there have been repairs to the base, but
no replacements that I see. The door glass is modern, the paper time dial is an old replacement with some yellowing, the glossy
calendar dial also likely an old replacement. All hands are proper. The signed 8-day movement is running, but reluctantly,
and the calendar hands are advancing, including the month indicator. There is an instruction label inside on setting the calendar,
but no maker’s label. Schmitt Horan sold one last November for $1700; three sales in 2021 averaged $1300. $1500-$1700.
