Waterbury Clock Co. “Peoria”, ca. 1900.  A 41.5-inch walnut case with a very light refinish, making it look like cherry.  The door glass is original with some touch-up to the black backing; the original painted dial is signed at the bottom, the hands are as shown in the catalog illustration (Ly, Waterbury Clocks & Watches, page 95).  The small 8-day, time-only movement is unsigned but used in other Peorias; it is running and the calendar rollers are advancing on cue.  There is a beat scale inside but no label inside or out.  The only flaw I can find is a missing pair of small cap finials that should be on the bottom corners.  You won’t miss them.  This is a very nice example of an uncommon clock; no recent sales on LiveAuctioneers, but AAC sold one in 2021 for $1200.  $1000–$1500.
