Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Parlor Calendar No. 1”, ca. 1865. This is the early version of this model with the panel between the dials.  Later versions (>1884) lacked the panel and had larger dials (10-inches vs 8 inches).  The 33-inch case has been reveneered and looks great.  Both glasses appear to be original, the dials were repainted by The Dial House.  The hands are correct.  The 8-day Seth Thomas lyre movement is marked Plymouth Conn, indicating pre-1865 manufacture, and is running and striking on a wire gong, driven by two 8-day weights.  The Mix Brothers calendar, used in ST clocks until about 1876, is advancing as expected.  There is a very good label on the back wall with a Thomaston address, indicating a post-1865 manufacture.  Together these two manufacture dates suggest this clock was put into service around 1865.  Although restored, this is the nicest example of this model I have seen, and it includes the key to open the door and usually missing.  AAC sold an example not quite as nice in 2021 for $400.  $350–$450.
