142.           $150

Seth Thomas & Sons & Co. “No. 8030”, ca. 1874. This model is shown in Ly’s second volume on Seth Thomas clocks on page 1053.  They did not name their models, only gave them numerical designations.  I guess Seth Thomas ran out of names.  This one has an Egyptian vibe, although I’m not sure that was the intent.  It is finished in French Bronze, 15 inches tall with a well-preserved finish.  The porcelain dial is behind a thick beveled glass with the original hands.  The dial is signed and shows just a bit of damage around the winding arbors. The round movement runs 15 days, time and half-hour strike; I cannot keep it running but I don’t think it is serious; it is die-stamped Seth Thomas & Sons & Co.  It strikes on a nickel bell, like a French clock.   The back cover has gone missing. No recent sales that I can find.  $150–$300.
