96.              $250

New Haven Clock Co. “Occidental” ca. 1900. Every major clock manufacturer made a mirrorside clock in the late 1800’s; their popularity must have been enormous.  This is New Haven’s contribution, a very nice example.  The walnut case is clean, the ornaments and putti repainted, the finials correct. Both side mirrors have been replaced.  The door glass is old but the polychrome pattern is not typical; it may nonetheless be a New Haven pattern.  The glossy paper dial is a replacement, the hands are proper modern replacements.  The unsigned 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running and striking on a wire gong; there is a fancy adjustable pendulum.  The label on the back is incomplete but does show the manufacturer.  AAC sold an Occidental in 2020 for $295.  $250–$350.
