95.             $750

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Atlas”, 1883.  The second of the two shelf clock models made by ST with the quarter-hour strike on two bells.  The oak case is 22.5 inches tall with an old finish; the glass is likely original, the dial paper with proper hands – the only apology here, as ST did not make paper dials.  The ST movement is running and striking on the quarter-hours on the two nickel bells and counting the hours on the cathedral chime.  A damascened nickel pendulum bob and a dark label inside, the date of manufacture stamped on the back.  The Atlas seems to be harder to find than the Hecla; AAC has not sold one, and the most recent sale of an oak model was at Schmitt Horan in 2020 for $425.  $750–$1000.
