Irvin Rosen ripple-front steeple, 1976. Mr. Rosen rediscovered how J.C. Brown produced his ripple trim and proceeded to make replicas in the 1970’s - 1980’s. This is
one example, and it is a beauty! Rosen won an award in the 1995 NAWCC crafts contest for his reproduction of a J.C. Brown ripple-front
steeple. The mahogany case is 19.5 inches tall with a modern frosted glass tablet and dial glass; the signed painted dial is
aluminum; the hands are modern. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement was made by Waterbury and is running and striking on the
wire gong. There is a large signed and dated label on the backwall and his name, location, and date are inscribed on the back
of the case. Mr. Rosen joined J.C. Brown in 2010. This exact clock sold at R.O. Schmitt in 2017 for $700; it is the only
sales record I can find. $400–$800.
