237.         $250

Marine Clock Manufacturing Co. octagon lever, 1847-1853.  A second clock from this uncommon maker, this one in the traditional octagon wall clock style.  The movement is the same as that in #236, patented by Charles Kirk in 1847 and unsigned, running and striking without issue.  The case is 11 inches across in rosewood veneer, the glass is modern, the dial original with professional touch-up, the hands period.  There is a small opening between the X and XI that allows you to lift a strike arm and advance the strike.  No sales on LiveAuctioneers, one sale on the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide in 2006.  $250-$500.
