New Haven Clock Co. “Sauer’s Advertiser”, ca. 1917.  This is an advertiser version of New Haven’s No. 3043, made for the C.F. Sauer Company of Richmond VA.  This model was used as an advertiser by other companies as well.  The case is 42.5 inches long in a dark and likely original mahogany finish.   Both glasses are likely original as well; much of the applied advertising paint and gold leafing has been lost.  The dial is replaced paper with the New Haven name, the hands are correct.  The movement is an 8-day time-only and bears the New Haven logo; it is running strongly. There is a New Haven beat scale inside and a label on the back.  Reproductions of this clock were made in the last 50 years, and Sauer’s, founded in 1887, is still in business selling spices, extracts, and flavorings.  Dan Morphy sold one last year for $750; AAC sold one in 2021 for $700.  $600-$900.
