199.           $200

Waltham Clock Co. inlaid cabinet clock, ca. 1897-1923. The lever spring movement is marked “Waltham Clock Co.” with a serial number of 23289.  Waltham Clock Co. was purchased by the Waltham Watch Co. and renamed the Waltham Watch & Clock Co. in 1923.  I cannot find another example of this model in auction records or my Waltham resources, but I suspect this clock is from the early 1900’s.  The mahogany cabinet is 12.5 inches tall with satinwood string inlay on the front along with an inlay diamond pattern.  The dial glass is convex, the painted dial sits in a silvered ring and is signed Waltham.  The movement is running and striking on a cathedral gong on the hours and half-hours. No label, but several service labels on the bottom.  $200-$400.
