Seth Thomas “Arch Top”, ca. 1880. A distinctive 15.5-inch case with a clean finish on the burled walnut veneer. There are some chips here and there, but nothing serious. The dial glass is period, the dial was likely repainted some time ago, and there is some fading and smearing to the numbering. The hands are ST issue. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running and striking as expected on a wire gong; there is a good label inside that is largely obscured by the gong mount and case. AAC sold one last July for $320. $200-$300.
