Seth Thomas “Octagon Top”, ca. 1860. A very fine example
of this iconic small shelf clock. The mahogany veneer is clean and bright, with one chip on the lower left corner of the cornice. Both glasses are period and likely original; the tablet displaying a fruit bowl is quite nice with very few losses and good color. The dial is glossy paper over an old zinc dial pan, with proper hands. The 8-day, time-and-strike Seth Thomas lyre movement
is signed and running, striking on a wire gong. It is secured to the backwall with bolts. There is a good Plymouth Hollow label
inside and an old, patterned ST pendulum bob. Darn nice. $100-$250.
