189.           $200

E. Ingraham & Co. “Arch Column No. 1”, ca. 1865.  An early shelf clock with a classic design, a popular but difficult model to find.  The case is 17 inches tall with rosewood veneer on the front and grain-painted sides.  The gilt columns have been repainted; both glasses appear to be original, with the gilt tablet rebacked. The dial is paper, the hands proper.  The unsigned 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running, striking the hours on a wire gong. There is a partial label inside and an Ingraham key.  AAC sold one last summer for $250.  $200-$400.
