177. $250
Sperry & Shaw four finial steeple, 1844-1851. A 21-inch
dark mahogany case with four cone finials (at least one tip has been repaired) and two original glasses, with the Fenn tablet in very
good condition. The painted dial is old, the hands period. The 30-hour, time-and-strike, double-fusee movement is unsigned
but likely made by Hiram Welton; note the heart-shaped cutout behind the verge. It is running but the strike side is having
some problems. There is a good label behind plastic inside. This clock last sold at Cottone’s in 2014 for $650, and I
can find no recent sales of this fusee model. $250-$400.
