131.           $150

Boardman & Wells column & splat, 1832-1837.  B&W made a great many clocks over their 10-year partnership, making wooden works clocks until about 1837, when they switched to brass movements until 1843 when the partnership dissolved.  This clock is 31.5 inches tall with a restored finish – I believe the columns and splat have been repainted and re-bronzed, and both glasses replaced in the twentieth century.  The tablet is, nonetheless, quite nice.  The wooden dial is clean, the hands period, although the minute hand appears to be a replacement.  The 30-hour time-and-strike wooden movement is running and striking, with weights included.  There is a good label inside.  Nice clock for a New Yorker.  $150-$250.
