95.              $300

Southern Calendar Clock Co. “Fashion No. 4”,ca. 1885.  A 32-inch solid walnut case with an old finish in need of some polish; the two outside finials are original; the center finial may be newer.  The door glass is original with the original lettering; the dials are original with considerable flaking to both.  The hands are correct.  The 8-day time-and-strike movement is signed and running, striking the hours on the large brass bell; it is marked “Made for the Southern Calendar Clock Co., St Louis MO”.  The pendulum is correct, the RT Andrews calendar mechanism is advancing properly.  Good labels inside.  AAC has sold several similar examples with flaking dials over the past year for around $400.  $300-$400.

Bill Bauer points out that this No. 4 lacks a "secret compartment" in the back.  He estimates that less than 10% of this model lack this compartment.
