Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Parlor Calendar No.
9”, 1886. A second example of this wonderfully ornate calendar clock. The walnut case is just under 30 inches tall with
two old glasses and two dials repainted by The Dial House. The hands are correct. I believe the crest on this clock is
a modern replacement, with the ornamental balls and center ring in a lighter color. The Seth Thomas 8-day, time-and-strike movement
is running without issue, striking on the cathedral gong, and the calendar date hand and day roller are advancing. A ‘Do not
oil’ label inside and the date stamped on the back. Schmidt’s Antiques sold a similar example in 2020 for $2500. $2000-$3000.
