Ithaca Calendar Clock Co. “No. 7 Cottage, Hanging”,
1869-1878. A 25-inch walnut case with an old, dark finish and a rich patina. The drop-base was an option with this clock,
and here is a modern addition. It can be removed easily and then you have a shelf clock. There is a flip-up door between
the dials to access the pendulum. Both glasses are old, the paper dials yellowed but in good shape, and certainly old. The time hands should be moon hands. This example has a 30-day, double-wind, time-only, nickel-plated movement made by Welch
for the ICCC. It is running and the calendar is advancing as expected; the pendulum bob is brass, it should be nickel
(a nickel pendulum can be purchased for $15 - add a note to your bid sheet). The No. 7 shelf cottage is relatively common, but
there is only one sale of the hanging version on LiveAuctioneers, in 2013 for $450 at Harris. $400-$600.
