Seth Thomas “Office Calendar No. 1”, ca. 1874. This is the later version of this model with the simpler rounded door frames (single OG), in comparison with the double-OG form of the earlier version (#73).  The single OG form was easier to veneer; this clock has been completely re-veneered and looks great. The dial glass is modern, the calendar glass is old; both dials have been repainted, the hands are correct.  The 8-day Seth Thomas time-only, weight-driven movement is running and the calendar day and date hand are advancing; the weight is correct, as is the pendulum rod for this later model.  Seth Thomas switched to the single OG form by 1874 and switched to the R.T. Andrews calendar mechanism in 1876; this clock was likely made between those two dates.  A good label on the door.  $1500-$2000.
