Ithaca Calendar Clock Co. “No. 12 Hanging Kildare”
REPRODUCTION, ca. 1965. George Bower, Taneytown, MD made a number of very good Kildare reproductions; this is one of them, per Joel
Warren. The case is Central American mahogany, finely carved; the door glass is modern, the black paper dials and hands are
modern, but the movements are reconditioned originals. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is unsigned; it is running and striking
on the cathedral gong. The calendar date hand is advancing, but the weekday roller is sticky and will need adjustment. The cut glass pendulum is original. This is a beautiful example of this uncommon model; Schmitt Horan sold an identical example last
June for $4000; Cottone’s sold a Kildare reissue for $1100 in 2021. I believe the Schmitt Horan example was a Bower clock. ACC sold a Bower clock with some issues last summer for $1000. $1200-$2500.
