70.              $2400

Ithaca Calendar Clock Co. “No. 5 ˝ Hanging Belgrade”, 1880-1905.  A second example, this one in ash, again with a clean finish.  I see no missing trim pieces, and only one blemish on the lower right where a screw to mount the base broke through the surface.  The door glass is old, the dials clean glossy paper, with full labeling.  The three hands are correct.  The movement is an 8-day, time-and-strike made by Welch for the ICCC.  It is running and striking on the hours and half-hours on a cathedral gong.  The calendar day and date are advancing.  There just isn’t anything to complain about here; this one is a beauty.  Belgrades in ash are considerably less common than those in walnut; Schmitt Horan sold one last summer for $3600.  $2400-$3600.
