69.              $1000

Ithaca Calendar Clock Co. “No. 5 ˝ Hanging Belgrade”, 1880-1905.  A beautiful 37-inch walnut case with exquisite carvings throughout; I see no missing trim pieces, or even repairs.  This is the 8-day, time-and-strike model with an upgraded cathedral gong.  The door glass is a modern replacement; the black dials are old replacements I think (possibly original), the hands are correct but have been painted gold.  The movement was made by Welch for ICCC.  It is running, but the strike is frozen; similarly, the calendar movement is frozen, I think due to moisture exposure that resulted in rusting of the iron parts.  The movement will need to be cleaned and the calendar mechanism serviced.  If you don’t work on these yourself, Joel Warren can help you out.  A rare ICCC key is included.  Cottone’s sold a good example in 2021 for $1400, as did Fontaine’s.  $1000-$1600.
