65.              $350

Pennsylvania/Amish tall case, ca. 1825? A 90-inch refinished cherry case with a wooden plate pull-up movement, suggesting German/Pennsylvanian heritage, and the clock came out of a town near Philadelphia.  The case likely was painted originally, but the cherry case with ebony trim has a great country look; note that the glass is missing from the hood door and the right side of the base has a large vertical split.  The painted wooden dial shows flowers in the arch with some staining and warping and sits behind a contrasting wooden frame which is probably not original; indeed, the 30-hour time-and-strike movement may not be original, and is mounted to the dial with hook and eyelets in an unusual fashion.  There are chains for the two cone-shaped tin weights, filled with shot.  The clock runs erratically, and the strike is unreliable.  An attractive decorative piece, I think.  $350-$600.
