64.              $750

Mahogany tall-case hall clock, ca. 1900. A beautiful 99.5-inch mahogany case with a fine finish and no dents, scratches, or missing pieces.  The height is given with the center finial, but there is a substitute finial (see photo) that brings the height of this clock under 8 feet.  Both glasses are old, the metal dial was repainted by The Dial House in 2015.  There is a seconds bit and a calendar subdial, and all the hands are of a proper style.  The brass movement is running and striking easily, driven by two large brass weights, striking on a cathedral gong mounted above the movement.  There are iron supports on the sides to support the seatboard and movement. No label or sign of a maker mark on the movement, dial, or case, but this is clearly a better-quality hall clock.  The key and latch on the dial door work, but the waist door latch is nonfunctional.  $750-$1500.
