Timothy Chandler New Hampshire mirror clock, 1820-1830.  Timothy Chandler is best known for tall-case clocks, but he worked with his sons, Timothy Jay and Abiel from 1820 to 1830; after that he was on his own.  Abiel is best known for New Hampshire mirror clocks like this, but the movement here is nothing like an Abiel Chandler movement.  This clock may have been made after father and Abiel parted ways in 1830.  It should be noted that I am assigning this to Timothy Chandler based on the signature on the dial, which looks old and original, and the unusual movement.  The case is 29.75 inches long with an old finish, I’d guess it has been repainted, including the gilding on the half-columns.  It is put together with dovetail joints; there is an interesting pin door latch on a chain on the left.  The lower left corner medallion is a replacement, and it appears that there may have been a scroll-top. The dial glass is modern, as is the mirror.  The painted dial is flat and looks like the original paint, but I can’t exclude the possibility that it has been repainted or relined, with an added signature.  The hands are carved and early, 1820’s early. The 8-day, time-only movement is running, driven by a compounded 8-lb lead weight; there are numerous penciled notations inside with dates from the 1800’s, the earliest being 1856.  There are no T. Chandler mirror clocks in the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide, and one on LiveAuctioneers, but the movement isn’t shown, and the signature is added.  If you have any relevant information, please share it with me!  Abiel Chandler clocks typically sell for $1000+.  $750-$1200.
