New Haven Clock Co. “Elbe”, ca. 1880.  A 24-inch walnut case with a slightly glossy overcoat.  The door glass is old and looks original with a good frosted stencillike that in the catalog illustration (page 316 of Ly, New Haven Clocks & Watches); the painted dial is clean and shows no chipping, the hands are appropriate.  The 8-day time, strike and alarm movement is unsigned and running and striking on the nickel bell.  AAC sold this clock a year ago for $152.  $100-$175.
