JC-4.              $100

E. Ingraham Co. “Capitol”, ca. 1915. A 22-inch pressed wood oak case with a clean finish.  The door glass is a period Ingraham design; the discolored dial is paper and is signed at the bottom.  The hands are correct.  The 8-day, time-and-strike Ingraham movement will run briefly and strikes but needs to be cleaned to run reliably.  The pendulum is Ingraham issue, I believe.  The label on the back says, “Old Dominion”, but I cannot find an Ingraham model named “Old Dominion”; the catalog listing of this model in Ly, Ingraham Clocks & Watches, page 311, is called “Capitol”.  There are two examples of Ingraham Old Dominion sales on LiveAuctioneers, one of which is this model, and one is the model named “Freedom” in the catalog illustration in Ly’s book.  One listing of “Ingraham Capitol” on LiveAuctioneers also shows an Old Dominion red label on the back.  I don’t know what is going on.  $100-$150.
