Chauncey Jerome iron-front, ca. 1845.  A 12.25-inch iron case painted black with a faux marble finish.  Considerable loss to the finish.  The dial glass is period, in a brass bezel with the original painted dial signed C Jerome; the hands are period.  The 8-day time-and-strike movement is signed Chauncey Jerome, New Haven Conn USA; it is running and striking on a wire gong.  There is no label.  Rough.  $50-$100.
