Waterbury Clock Co. “Vintner”, ca. 1867.  An 18.5-inch spelter metal case in two parts (case-front and topper).  The topper shows a youth with a handful of grapes and collection basket on his left.  The case originally had a bronze finish, and I can’t exclude the possibility that this is the original, worn finish.  The dial glass is old, the dial unsigned paper with some discoloration, the hands acceptable replacements. The signed, 8-day time-and-strike movement is very dirty and will not run or strike; it will need to be cleaned.  There is a label inside.  $50-$100.
